Today Mercedes-Benz is obviously known as a manufacturer of luxury cars. However, while Mercedes-Benz itself is part of a larger parent organization that is today called Daimler AG. Earlier this holding company was called Daimler-Benz. During WWII, Daimler-Benz not only made high quality cars, but various subdivisions also produced engines for many of Germany's armed forces. In particular, the company produced many of the engines that literally lifted the Luftwaffe off the ground. In this poster, Daimler-Benz was showcasing its contributions to the war effort from personnel carriers to the planes propelled by its engines.
